February’s birthstone is Amethyst, an essentially purple and pink quartz found in Siberia, Brazil, Uruguay, South Korea, and North America. It's also found in other hues like a light pinkish and or deep purple. Some exhibits even have rare amethyst with secondary hues such as red and blue and sometimes both.
Ancient Greeks and Egyptians thought that Amethyst prevented intoxication, and medieval European soldiers wore Amethyst as an amulet for protection in battle.
Metaphysically Amethyst is known as a grounding stone, so if you’re feeling stressed-out or hectic, place Amethyst over your heart (so they say...)
A semi-precious stone that's also ripe for Mabel's alchemy...
